The modern IT infrastructure: Cloud, Edge or on-site?

28. June 2026

What does your business really need to work efficiently?

Many companies today are faced with the question: “Do we have to push everything into the cloud or is our own server in the basement better?” The answer is rarely an either-or, but usually a question of the appropriate mix.

The three ways in comparison:

  1. The cloud (pure flexibility): Ideal for email, office programs and mobile work. You only pay what you use and don’t have to worry about maintenance or hardware.
  2. On-premise (full control): Your data is physically with you in the company. This offers maximum independence and is often useful for very large amounts of data or the strictest data protection requirements.
  3. Edge (speed on site): If you network special devices or machines, data is processed directly where it arises – this saves time and keeps the connection stable.

What is the right mix for you?

The goal of modern IT is not to follow a trend, but to keep your workflows stable. We usually use Hybrid solutions: We combine the flexibility of the cloud for everyday office life with the security of on-premises storage for your business-critical data.

My approach: Your IT must suit you – not vice versa

You don’t have to be an IT expert to have the right infrastructure. I analyze where your data is really needed and how I design your processes to run safely and quickly.

Are you planning a renewal of your IT or are unsure whether your system is still up-to-date? I advise you neutrally and find the solution that fits your budget and your company.
