The modern IT infrastructure: Cloud, Edge or on-site?
What does your business really need to work efficiently?
Many companies today are faced with the question: “Do we have to push everything into the cloud or is our own server in the basement better?” The answer is rarely an either-or, but usually a question of the appropriate mix.
The three ways in comparison:
- The cloud (pure flexibility): Ideal for email, office programs and mobile work. You only pay what you use and don’t have to worry about maintenance or hardware.
- On-premise (full control): Your data is physically with you in the company. This offers maximum independence and is often useful for very large amounts of data or the strictest data protection requirements.
- Edge (speed on site): If you network special devices or machines, data is processed directly where it arises – this saves time and keeps the connection stable.
What is the right mix for you?
The goal of modern IT is not to follow a trend, but to keep your workflows stable. We usually use Hybrid solutions: We combine the flexibility of the cloud for everyday office life with the security of on-premises storage for your business-critical data.
My approach: Your IT must suit you – not vice versa
You don’t have to be an IT expert to have the right infrastructure. I analyze where your data is really needed and how I design your processes to run safely and quickly.
Are you planning a renewal of your IT or are unsure whether your system is still up-to-date? I advise you neutrally and find the solution that fits your budget and your company.
